Chapterhouse Education celebrated its first graduate class on February 26, 2019. The day was a bit wet and windy but the spirits of the teachers and students were high. The event was well attended with the children’s parents and siblings joining us for the festivities. Over the past several weeks both the teachers and the students had worked very hard to create a morning to remember – and through their hard work and by the grace of God, the morning was a complete success.
The morning began with a recitation of the Holy Quran and a Naat. The entire school then participated in a performance of “Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua” by our national poet Allama Iqbal. Remembering the founders of Pakistan is important, and one of our Grade 2 students did just that by delivering a speech on the life of Quaid-e-Azam. It was then time for our Playgroup students to spring into action with a few rousing performances including the classic “Are You Sleeping” and class favorites “Aaloo Mian” and “Mano Badi Achi Mano”. The senior students then took over with a few lively acts of their own – first a rendition of the continents song, followed by a science experiment “Rocket Balloons” to demonstrate one of the Laws of Motion. Other highlights included an intense performance of “Jack In The Box” which gave them the opportunity to practice their expressions – something the parents in the room were already quite familiar with.
The performances wrapped up with two fun performances, the first “Tooty Taa” was specially fun because it had been included in the days festivities on the special request of all the children. The second, a medley of national songs including the classic “Sohni Dharti” brought the audience to its feet in support of the young performers. Be sure to check out some of the vides in our video section.
Once the performances were over, it was time for the graduation. The students were dressed in graduation robes and hats as they marched into the auditorium. As each name was called (oldest to youngest) the graduation certificate was presented by the Principal Dr. Saadia Asif. In addition to the certificates, students also received special awards that recognized unique behaviors through the year. These included, Maths Whiz, Superstar, Yes I Can Award and many more.
As the morning wrapped up, there were smiles and laughter all around and the event was declared a complete success.
We are looking forward to next year!!
